Question 1

Can old or worn marble be repolished?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our diamond polishing and honing process removes scratches, etch marks, and dull spots to restore the original shine on marble floors and surfaces. It is project-based work priced at $2.00 to $9.00 per square foot depending on the size and condition of the floor. Request a free on-site estimate at (954) 482-5008.

Question 2

Can you restore old terrazzo, including vintage or Art Deco terrazzo?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We restore aged and worn terrazzo floors through diamond grinding, honing, polishing, and sealing to bring back their finish, which makes us a fit for the many historic and Art Deco terrazzo floors across South Florida. Because every terrazzo floor differs, pricing runs $2.00 to $9.00 per square foot and is confirmed after a free on-site assessment across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach.

Question 3

What is the difference between grinding, honing, polishing, and sealing?

Accepted Answer

Diamond grinding and honing remove scratches and surface damage and level the floor, polishing restores the sheen, and sealing helps protect the finished stone. We tailor the steps to the condition of your floor and confirm the scope during a free on-site estimate. Call (954) 482-5008.

Question 4

Can you fix scratches, etch marks, dull spots, and stains?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our diamond polishing, honing, and scratch-removal process addresses scratches, etch marks, dull areas, and surface stains on marble and terrazzo. We assess the surface first, then price the work at $2.00 to $9.00 per square foot. Schedule a free on-site estimate at (954) 482-5008.

Question 5

How much does marble and terrazzo polishing cost in South Florida?

Accepted Answer

Marble and terrazzo polishing and restoration ranges from $2.00 to $9.00 per square foot in the Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach areas. A basic polish and seal for a floor in reasonably good condition starts around $2.00-$4.00/sq ft, while a full restoration involving diamond grinding, lippage removal, multi-step honing, polishing, and sealing ranges from $5.00-$9.00/sq ft. We provide free on-site assessments with detailed written quotes.

Question 6

How long does a marble or terrazzo restoration take?

Accepted Answer

A standard polish and seal for a 2,000 sq ft lobby typically takes 2-3 days. A full restoration with diamond grinding for a similar area may take 4-6 days. Larger projects like 10,000+ sq ft condominium common areas can take 1-3 weeks depending on the scope. We schedule work during off-peak hours and can phase the project to keep portions of the floor accessible during restoration.

Question 7

How often should marble and terrazzo floors be professionally polished?

Accepted Answer

For most commercial lobbies and common areas in South Florida, we recommend professional polishing every 1-3 years depending on foot traffic. High-traffic areas like building entrances may need annual attention, while lower-traffic areas can go 3-5 years between full restorations. Regular maintenance between polishing cycles, including proper pH-neutral cleaning and periodic spray buffing, extends the time between restorations significantly.

Question 8

Can you fix cracks and chips in terrazzo floors?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Crack and chip repair is a standard part of our terrazzo restoration process. We fill cracks with color-matched epoxy, grind the repair flush with the surrounding surface, and polish it to match. For extensive cracking caused by foundation settlement, we may recommend consulting a structural engineer before proceeding with cosmetic restoration.

Question 9

What areas of South Florida do you serve for marble and terrazzo work?

Accepted Answer

We serve all of Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Our marble and terrazzo restoration projects have included properties in Miami, Miami Beach, Coral Gables, Brickell, Aventura, Sunny Isles, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Pompano Beach, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, Jupiter, and all surrounding communities throughout the tri-county area.

Question 10

Is polishing different from waxing marble floors?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and the difference is critical. Waxing applies a synthetic coating on top of the stone that yellows over time, builds up in layers, attracts dirt, and eventually needs to be stripped, which can damage the marble. Professional diamond polishing mechanically restores the stone's own surface to a natural shine without any coating. The result is more durable, more beautiful, and better for the long-term health of your stone. We never recommend waxing natural stone floors.
